Gumel Emirate Foundation (GEF) paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutse (FUD).

The Gumel Emirate Foundation (GEF), led by its Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji Sani Ahmad Babandi (Dan Amar of Gumel), paid a courtesy visit on December 23, 2025, to the newly elected Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ahmad Muhammad Gumel, of the Federal University Dutse (FUD), to formally congratulate him on his recent election through the university’s electoral process.

The delegation also included the Chairman of the Education Committee, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi, alongside other members of the Foundation. The visit was part of the Foundation’s tradition of engaging with key educational stakeholders and celebrating the achievements of distinguished sons of the Emirate who have attained positions of national academic leadership.

During the visit, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees conveyed the Foundation’s profound pride in the Vice-Chancellor’s emergence, describing it as a reflection of his distinguished academic career, proven leadership qualities, and long-standing commitment to excellence in higher education. He noted that the electoral victory is not only a personal achievement but also a source of honour to the Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State, and Nigeria at large.

The delegation further expressed confidence in the Vice-Chancellor’s capacity to build on existing achievements and steer the Federal University Dutse towards greater academic excellence, research innovation, and institutional development. The Foundation reaffirmed its willingness to support initiatives that promote quality education, capacity building, and community engagement.

The visit also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo, who was present during the visit. Members of the delegation commended his leadership and dedication to the growth and stability of the Federal University Dutse, noting that his tenure recorded significant milestones in academic development and institutional consolidation.

In his response, the newly elected Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Gumel Emirate Foundation for the visit and the goodwill extended to him. He described the gesture as encouraging and reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, academic excellence, and strengthening partnerships with relevant stakeholders for the advancement of the university.

The Gumel Emirate Foundation reiterated its commitment to supporting educational development and fostering collaborative relationships with institutions of higher learning, in line with its mission to promote scholarship, leadership, and sustainable community development across the Emirate and beyond.
